LingerInShadows – Not just a demo
News has just hit the internet about a “in-game” demo that is “amazing” running on the PS3.
4Sceners has uploaded an image gallery of screen caps of the video they were shown.

Earlier this month I noticed a dev, on my friends list playing a game that I didn’t recognize. This game was LingerInShadows… I know its a game, because it had a PS controller/game icon, next to the title. I asked this dev what the game was, but never got a response.
So you heard it here first. LingerInShadows is not just a technical demo. Its a game.

Learn some german so you become able to understand the article from 4sceners.
It is just a demo scene from a polish codergroup called “Plastic”.
Simply a Techdemo. Nothing less and nothing more!
In other words: Nice to watch, no chance to play!

OK, i have read somewhere else that the demo shown at this event was not finished yet and that Sony wishes this demo to become a real-time demo so that everybody can mess around with the beauty of it…
Furthermore, it seems that Sony has made a deal with the coders (Plastic) to make this demo only available through PSN….
You wont get a HD video of it anywhere else
So go out and buy a PS3 *lol* or just wait for incoming torrents of it…
Oh, and they worked 3 years in this short demo, hope they share their knowledge off it to all the PS3 devs out there so that they can benefit from their technical atchievement.

Know that controller icon that shows up next to the game title?
Yeah, that was next to the title LingerInShadows.
This was a few weeks ago. I am gonna keep an eye out and try to snap a pic of the dev playing it.

You are aware that the difference between a tech demo and a game is that a game accepts user input right? The PS3 does not care about the difference between the two. It’s going to show a “game” icon either way.

Sorry, but you’ve made a mistake. This is not an ingame demo, ist a scene demo (tech demonstration). See the Wikipedia-Article:
