Konami ID Registration Walkthrough
Word has spread like wildfire about MGO beta, and with the huge influx of people rushing to create their Konami ID’s and GAME ID’s, it has literally crashed the Konami ID server.
“Due to a period of inactivity… The page has been deleted”
Wow did that sentence drive me nuts yesterday.
After about 9 hours of trying on and off, I finally got through to register…
Here are some tips to get your Konami ID registered.
Get ready to do some speed typing because anything less will get you the inactivity error. I recommend using Firefox as your browser, as I also tried with Internet Explorer and it didn’t work as well.
Go to https://id.konami.net/login.do
Click Register
The next page asks you to enter your country (which is already at United States), your language (already set at English), and your Date of Birth. Click Next
The following page requires you to agree to the Terms and Conditions, so without reading anything click agree.
This next page is where you need to do your speed typing. I suggest using the tab button to get to each line as fast as possible. The process (only the required info) will look something like this:
Konami ID (must be 8 characters or over using letters, numbers, and underscores. Must be lower case letters)
Password (must be 8 characters or over using letters, numbers)
Re-enter password
Mothers Maiden Name
GAME ID (cannot be the same as Konami ID, must be 8 characters or over, must use lower case letters)
GAME ID password (must be 4-32 digit number, NUMBERS ONLY) *use your debit card pin (lol)
Re-enter GAME ID password
Email Address
Re-enter Email address
First Name
Last Name
Gender
Zip code
City
State
Click next
Now you should be at the confirm screen.
Confirm, and you should receive an email from Konami in the email address you provided.
MAKE SURE to open the email, and click the confirmation link, otherwise your Konami ID will be deactivated after 3-4 days.
NOTE: This guide isn’t guaranteed to work, its only here to provide a heads up, so you can type your info FAST as to avoid the notorious “inactivity error” Also a couple things may be out of order (I dont think so) as I typed this just going memory… (Pretty sad thats how many times I attempted registering that I can remember the process step by step)

I was fortunate enough to have completed the process before everything went completely haywire. It was a little slow when I registered, but hearing the horror stories that others have experienced makes any complaint that I may voice sound like mere nitpicking.

I tried when it was first annouced and I still couldn’t get through! They know how big MGS4 is and they don’t make sure there site can support enough people?! Come on! Someone should be fired over this.

i also agree with Justin. someone definitely should have lost their job over this.
but the saddest thing is is that, why do we even need to make a name for the game, we already have a PSNID so making us have a new name seems pointless

Its very pointless.
The only thing I can think of, is Konami wants our email addresses to send us offers, and promos.
Having a Konami ID might make it easier to get a Gun Metal PS3.

They shoulda made a registration form on the MGO Beta and let us put all our details in and post so it gets through when it can but this.. this is just a bludday joke!!! This is gay.. gayness crappy crap!! wastin’ our lives to play beat the bludday clock! Damnit konami!!.. by the way.. dont use Microsoft Explorer else the certificate acceptance will drive you insane! get Firefox.. The beta doesn’t run through the Playstation network, therefore the PSN ids won’t work. The beta will run on Konami’s own servers and setup. I too am having the worst time trying to get this id. But im thinking that in the future, if the ps3 finally allows multiple players on a single screen during online play, similar to the 360, that there is going to have to be a change with how the PSN works right now. Im just blabbing on though trying to waste time before i attempt getting the id 50 more times again.

I have one of the worst mouths out of anyone I know, I curse WAY too much. I also totally understand your frustrations about the Konami ID.
But there is NO need to go crazy using that much profanity such as cu*ty mcwh**e who is posting above.
Profanity is ok, but over the top ridiculousness such as cun*y Mcw**re will have their comments edited, and will be reported as spam, and will NEVER be able to post on a wordpress blog site ever again.
Sure it may not seem like a big deal, but MANY big blogs such as PS Blog are wordpress blogs. So think before you speak.

I know you are all frustrated, and I was cursing up a storm when I was trying to get my Konami ID. So I get it, and its cool.

I just want to say that Konami just royally f&*ked PS3 over on one of their only truly great exclusive titles with this whole fiasco
I mean what is the point in making gamers get multiple ID’s to play. I just hope they don’t try to port the game to xbox to recoup from this and say its the only way to recoup expenses

i finally registered, it took me 42 hours but i don’t care at least i will be playing the beta. So good luck to everyone. Heres my tip ok, i know this sounds stupid but press ” END” on your keyboard before you click next and some how it works.

i found the best way to do it is to fill out all your details in one tab, do it slowly and carefully, then before you click next, open another tab, go through the date of birth page and the rules page again, then quickly switch straight back to the first tab and hit next.
When the next page loads up scroll straight to the bottom and hit register.

Thanks for the tips. Honestly, it didn’t matter how fast I entered the information. I even simply used the ability to have the browser recall what I’ve typed so I quickly select it instead of having to type it out again. I still kept getting timed out. Steven Organ’s trick worked for me like a charm, though. Now the e-mail’s not showing up in my inbox.. If it doesn’t I don’t think I have the energy to deal with this crap anymore. I’m a huge fan of MGS but this is ridiculous without a point.

It seems that if you enter a single field & then try clicking next, your information is saved, yet the page doesn’t become inactive. I got through by entering a single field at a time & then clicking outside the field & pressing end to go to the bottom. Then I click next. Simply rinse & repeat using the information given by the OP & you should be able to register too! GL!

USE THE TABS, I HAVE SAFARI, BUT FIREFOX WILL DO ALSO
FILL OUT HE INFORMATION
AND IN ANOTHER TAB OPEN THE SAME PAGE BUT DON FILL IN THE INFO
THE BACK TRACK TO THE FIRST TABE AND CLICK NEXT AT THE BOTTOM
(MAKE SURE YOUR FIRST TABE IS ACCURATELY FILLED!!!

i keep getting up to the info page and since i’m using firefox on a vista OS laptop all i have to do when i go through again is click the down arrow twice and it auto reenters the info, but thats beside the point. i can’t get past that page. at one point, the first time, the password was done wrong, to think i coulda gotten past that, then let down at the confirm page

Waste of time i think now 20th of aprill still no results still no improve first impressions last konami so i wont be buying the game i wouldent want to pay for the game go to a midnight opening and not be able to play till next year because of your unreliable servers.
Im gunna give this game a miss and go to gta next week.
Though i hope everyone get to at least play a day of the beta.
End day konami have release a beta that noone can use so heres my review. Dont waste u t ime ill try again in a few days see if i get any posstive results if i get to play the game and enjoy it ill completely take theses words back.
If you give somone somthing konami at least make sure its gunna work even if its free.

it actually took me only 10 mins in one sitting to get my id. the way i did it was that i quickly pressed next on the first 2 screens…the next screen i did not use auto fill..i just typed in my konami id, password, etc…and when i finished i clicked on the check id by konami id to check to see if my id was avaiable. Once it said it was available, i quickly pressed backed, and when it back to the third screen i quickly pressed next..and voila im in…this way worked for me…

Hey konami, if you don’t know how to set up online gaming, hire a company that does. After this, I hope fifa copies the hell out of PE because they can set up online gamin.
