Konami Responds to MGO Beta Issues

Many of you know that there have been several issues with the MGO beta. The sad part is that the beta hasn’t officially started yet. Two of the most common issues are the inability to create a Konami ID due to the site having issues and the inability to download the beta because you have a 9-digit beta access code. Apparently the massive amount of emails and the numerous articles on the matter have gotten the companies attention. On the Official PS Blog a Konami representative, Brandon Laurino, has addressed these two issues.

For those that have an incomplete beta code:

  • To start, we have been getting reports that some of you are receiving partial digit UPVC’s Metal Gear Online Beta on the “Metal Gear Saga Vol. 2″ DVD inserts. We are aware of this issue and are working hard to remedy. If you’ve been affected by this issue, please contact us at http://www.konami-data.com/support/. Please be sure to include your partial code, and any other pertinent details (like a return email address, etc). We thank you for your patience.

For those that have been unable to create a Konami ID (I know that there a lot of you):

  • Hi everyone! Due to incredibly high demand for the Metal Gear Online Beta test, we are aware that some of you are experiencing difficulties connecting to the Konami ID site. We are adding more servers and working around the clock to resolve this issue. We thank you for your patience, and your participation in the Metal Gear Online Beta test.

There you have it ladies and gentlemen. I personally would like to thank Konami and Brandon Laurino for taking notice of these issues and actually addressing them publicly. You can go over to the main blog to post any other questions and concerns that you may have regarding the beta.

P.S.

For those that wanted to know, there will be Konami officials in the beta as well.

Well, hopefully I can get an ID before the end of the weekend.

I hope so too. It really has been a shame to see the issues that Konami is having with this process. But it is best to get everything resolved now than to have this happen when it is released in June. I’m sure actually being able to play MGO early will make up for it.

  5. This is NOT addressing the problem. Throwing more servers at it won’t fix a thing. First of all, you need to fix the crappy web-app. The struts application sux, and must have been made by someone who hates users, or it’s someone’s first website ever.
Why the F**** do we need to go back to the ‘top’ all the time, and refill the complete form? Are you guys from mars or something?
Is the is registration app even designed at all? It looks like something created by Bush. First it seems to be able to do your registration, but the more you try, the more frustrated you get.
    Pathetic.

  6. Quite the testing process, I’ve been at it all day, thought I had it done before, but it doesn’t seem to recognize my email address! Guess I’m going to continue, waiting for this update anyway, weren’t joking it IS slow!
